Overview

Travertine is a kind of limestone and classified as a chemical sedimentary rock.  Travertine is formed in pools by the slow precipitation of hot, mineral-rich spring water. As the stone formed, trapped carbon dioxide bubbles created the characteristic voids found within travertine. Valued for its striking textural character travertine is available in a wide range of colors from light hues to deeper earth tones.  Available in both slabs and tile, and used for flooring, wall cladding, driveways, pool decks, countertops, and other applications, travertine remains a popular choice among homeowners and trade professionals.
